Singapore Garden Festival

Last Saturday was a shopping cum happy day! After having tuition with Peiyu, i headed to Bugis Junction to look for a birthday pressie for my dear student, Linsey. I got her a Perlini Silver's necklace and ALSO got myself an anklet and bracelet! So pretty, Im gona wear them to HK! And i brought a pressie and a card for Aimei Dear

I just feel like indulging myself on that day. So I cab down to Linsey's Birthday celebration. GOSH, it has been a long long time since I attended little children's birthday party. I felt like a kid all over again!

The form teacher came and he said this girl has improved. Well, a great consolation to me. But frankly, I dont see any improvement in her work. But from the celebration, it was really obvious that she is a good student compared to her other classmates -_-

Went home to have dinner with Grandaddy and he bought my FAVOURITE NUMBER 2 (Number 1 being durian) CHAMPEDAK! Whoo!

I had a VERY EXPENSIVE DINNER on Thursday. $2 for vegetables, $2 for steamed egg, $9 for a small boney fish...IT'S CAI FAN OK! wah, heng i brought enough money man, if not im really going to clean the floor for aunty.

Decided to cut my hair again cuz the weather is getting unbearable and my hair is getting out of shape. Angel daringly cut my back to VERY SHORT before I had the chance to tell her that I want to keep it long. I still love my colour so it has been left untouched. :)

Then I went to Singapore Garden Festival with my family!

Did I mention that i simply love the IPSA foundation that i bought! I love the nude feeling and how creamy it felt!:D

Rushed down to give Chris a surprise cuz it's her bday. SHENG RI KUAI LE! Decided to take revenge but was afraid that she didnt want to play along, so it was a easy look-for-clue-kinda mission.

And i found THE PHONE which i want to buy. My current hp is really CUI DIAO already. Although the problem can be solved by just getting a new battery, but I just want to settle for a nice chio phone.

Called up almost all LG shops to look for my LG PRADA. And i have been diligently reading up all possible forums for a good phone, and hoping to trace for my LG Prada. But news have been spreading that LG is going to come out with LG Prada 2 towards the end of the year, with 5 megapixels camera and everything u have in viewty.

end of the year? i dun think my 7610 can wait till that long. and im sure its going to cost a bomb.

Movie Marathon - Awon Korean Restaurant

It's rare that blogger is working absolutely fine in my lappy today, so i shall blog! Haha.

Granduncle brought us some small durians from kampong msia. It felt good to get my hands smelly! I miss the mao shan durian we ate the other day.

Look at how Grandaddy and Aunty are trying hard to open these small durians...

Yes, NICK SIR, I remember our 'Durian DATE'. WHAHAHAHA!

My supposedly NUA-DAYS were brightened up by MR PANG (I know you read my blog, thats why u know i have another pair of Haviannas ;P), who 'drag' me out for movie-lunch-movie last Friday afternoon. UOB rocks! cos each show only cost us $6/pax. whoo!~

First up, we watched Hellboy, a demon who is raised to be a defender against the forces of darkness. He is this bright red mammoth with an attitude. One day, they are sent out to investigate what happened at an auction house where all the people have disappeared. What they find is the beginnings of a war between the monsters who live in the dark underworld and humans.

The creatures are so fanciful and beautifully created, even though they are so outrageous and unbelievable.

The death scenes were really beautiful and it reminds me of the ending for Curse of the Golden Flower...all gold gold one...-_-

There are scenes a-plenty that are supposed to sell the relationship between characters that don’t have any resonance, especially in the relationship between Abe Sapien and Princess Nuala, but i thought it could be developed further.

Hellboy and Sapien on the other hand, have a dirtier connection and infused with equal parts humor and sensitivity. Actually, most of the relationships between Hellboy and the other characters rely on some form of humor. Laughter was easily one of the better parts of the movie.
overall, I left the theater satisfied with the story. :)

Then we went to 724 market to have a scrumptious lunch! my all-time-fav 林海盛 carrot cake, satay bee hoon and oluak-oluak. Yum Yum, i will give a review of my fav carrot cake soon! :)

Up next, THE DARK KNIGHT - which has created so much hype in Singapore. It is a direct sequel to 2005's Batman begins, picking up right where it left off, with a new villain starting to stir up trouble in Gotham City. Along with a new villain comes a new hero, Harvey Dent and the mysterious and strange criminal who calls himself The Joker.

In this film, Batman gets a new suit and some new toys! Haha, everything so high tech! Undeniably, this movie has more substance, which is why a little longer in run time, and my butt gets numb after sitting in the cinema for 2.5 hours. -_-

Music was an integral and gripping part in this show that you couldn’t help but feel like it would have been playing had all the events onscreen been occurring in real life.

Themes of Batman have always been imbued to the specific characters, the director was able to reach out through these characters and tell the audience what they mean, stand for and what’s on their minds. Each character has multiple deep emotional moments. Even those small roles have their own motives, decisions, actions and reactions.

"The story is expertly crafted to grab on and not let go, lending screen time for all the characters to arc in a complete way. The beginning grabs you, the middle is the meaning of the word climax, and the ending is complete in a big way. The Dark Knight boasts some amazing performances from its cast. There is no interaction between characters wasted in the film and they all have a deep kinetic connection that drives the film with a powerful force." (The Absolute Jay, 2008)

The billionaire turned vigilante Bruce Wayne/Batman (by Christian Bale) is actually a Welsh, but he masks it quite well (and is quite handsome isnt it? haha). In The Dark Knight, we see more of Batman, a striking difference from the first film, where he was portrayed more as a shadow. And this of course, make us feel more for him.

We all know the tragedy that befell the young Heath Ledger, who plays the villainously insane Joker. With all the praise he’s been handed and the words “Oscar nomination” being used, there’s much speculation that it’s, well, sympathy for a good young actor who passed much before his time. I can say that, this is one of the best performances given by an actor. :)

Weekends was spent tuition and tuition and tuition. Suddenly, im dreading Sundays. PSLE Chinese class often sapped most of my energy with a naughty rascal there. Then I get myself messed up with incoming s3 and s4 students, which often leave mi totally drained.

But what to do? To earn more for my hk trip and own allowance. And to kill time. Unless there are other better things for me to do.

Well well, perhaps i m just getting lazy.

Went for Body Step with Chris on Monday, it was so fun! Basic step but the fact that we can all follow and 'dance' 5 rounds is really SHIOK! Then we went around the whole AMK Hub to look for a good eye mask. In the end, we settled on face shop's award winning eye patch with is $9.90 for 2 pairs of eye patches. Went O2 and met xin fang's Mummy (a naughty student), so we stood there and hear her 'aunty talk', which then delays my lunch appt.

met MR PANG and we had an expensive lunch at iciban. (Thanku for that :))

My p5 student is inviting me to her birthday party this saturday afternoon. So weird for a adult to be there to join the kids. Gosh, what should i get for her? Any ideas...?

Incubation

Bought this MFSS GG T-shirt. I think it looks nice, as compared to the previous years where we just throw in the Guide's Promise. So old fashioned! Haha.

July is a month of incubation for me. To get back on track my exercise routine, to get back my precious sleep, to watch as many TV shows, to have gatherings...to basically let myself take a break before a busy year begins. When school starts, i think i dont have the luxury to do some of the above anymore.

Final year is like so near yet so far. As much as i hate the journey to school, i dont want to graduate. But when i see my friends grauduating, how i wish i can get out of the school ASAP. How 矛盾！

Hong Kong trip is still in the midst of planning. I want to make it the most enjoyable one before I jump into a pool of assignments and projects.

Aunty is finally getting a DVD player! cuz she wants me to watch catonese shows before my trip to hong kong in order for mi to learn more about cantonese. So she willing gets me a DVD player. haha

Guides Meeting

Called back MFSS for a meeting today. It was simply a ridiculous one.

I pity the person who was blamed. Although i do understand why the principal is doing this and i can accept the reason behind it, but i just felt that:

As leaders, I think all of us have been doing a reasonably good job in training the junior guiders. In fact, when i look at their drills when im back, i felt they were so much fortunate than us. With leaders and seniors guiding and leading you the correct way, unlike us, we had to figure out everything ourselves and even doing the horse-shoe formation wrongly without knowing.

And I really don't understand by giving a punishment for 40 pumpings will cause any harm. It just goes to show that these girls are too vulnerable and fragile.

well, but then times have changed. they cant possibly take the harsh trainings that we used to get. A 2pm drill - and they will start to complain that it's too hot blah blah blah.

Lost Watch

有人曾说：“属于你的东西，不管怎么跑，都跑不掉。不属于你的东西，不管怎么抓都抓不着。”

我终于相信了。

我对手表非常讲究。很难才能找到一只心爱的表。可是，若一找到，不管去到哪里，我就会一直带住它。记得小时候，红包钱都是放入银行。直到中二那一年，我大胆地要求妈妈保留$200，陪我到表店买一只很喜欢的手表。还记得，手表是黑色长形，虽然尺寸有点大，我还是买了。那时，妈妈觉得我简直是浪费钱。可是，没想到，那只表一直陪我到高中第二年，直到它正式坏掉，我才没用。可是，现在我任把它好好的收藏起来。

两年前，看中了一只Baby G的手表。白色的表带，方格的款式，简单时髦，带出了我好动的一面。阿姨也大方地买下来，作为我20岁生日的大礼。

可是不到几个月，因为一次的“好心”，而失去了这只手表。。。那时很难过，因为是自己喜爱的东西，也是阿姨花钱送我的东西。

阿姨知道后，决定去年再买同一只手表送我。

就这样，我又拿到了这只表。这次，真的好好保管。

几个月前，手表又不见了。更气人的是，我不记得我在哪儿不见了。

到现在为止，还没有这个勇气去告诉阿姨。希望她会读到这篇遗憾的论文吧！

你相信缘分吗？这只表，一而再、再而三地从我的生命里溜走，我不得不相信它其实不属于我的。不管多么珍惜，有些东西不是你的，就一定不是你的。

我想，感情也真是如此。如果一段感情经不起考验，不管彼此多么相爱，结果也是一样。

Girl's Night Out

I spent a SPLENDID Saturday night with 3 other lovelies in MY SECRET GARDEN. I found this place when I went Sunshine plaze to eat the infamous Yun Tun Mee a few years back, and it was my 1ST CHOICE for my 21st birthday party venue. But well, the steep price makes mi drop off the idea.

Now 1 year later, I am finally here. Sitting inside, enjoying the feel of being 'secetive'. It was really a nice environment, with soothing music, okay food but great company!

We rarely had this kinda of hype up and super comfortable dinner together. Girl's night Out kind-of dinner i meant. No guys around, no boyfriends for Xiaoling and Yue Yin. Just 4 of us. Gossips, Small talks, cam whore, hilarious jokes, sharing secrets deep in our hearts, giving advice to each other etc. How nice!

We must have more of this yea! :)

After setting aside a pile of money for my piano lessons, i have became poorer by alot. And it feels terrible especially when I m out there shopping. So these are the small things i bought :(

I am starting to take care of my lovely eyes now. Gosh, sometimes when i see the milia seeds, fine lines and dark eye circles on my face at a age of 22, it just freaks me out. Many forum people recommended Missha's Eye Creme, so i decided to give it a shot and spent the last some of money in my wallet in this small beauty investment. haha! Hopefully it works, if not I am going to give a bad review on it. HAHAHA!

And i bought 2 T-shirts, for $20 altogether! wooo~

Friday night was spent in YAC, as usual. :)

WE HAVE FINALLY BOOKED A HOTEL FOR MY HK TRIP! Sat down with Chris (FINALLY) to look through the attractions and hotels that we desire. All the while, I have been doing wrong calculations, thinking that the hotel prices are too expensive for us, hence i have been flipping through the list of hostels. Finally, i had a discussion with WingK on Saturday and i realised, HEY! WE CAN AFFORD THESE HOTELS! And finally, we are staying at this 4 star hotel - Deluxe Room called YMCA INTERNATIONAL HOUSE! Whee!

Now i can finally start to plan the itenary! Should we go Maccau?

Whenever I go for my P5 tuition at Yishun, there is always this cute doggie which barks at me. Although it is real sweet, but i still dare not go near it. hai. Kia-see me. haha. Apparently, the mother spends alot of money on it. Bringing it for grooming every week. and spending time to clean it almost everyday. i think she doesnt spend much time with her children. haha.

When i can overcome my fear for animals, i will get a cute doggie too! :)

I saw David Nye on CNA last night. oh mine, he never fails to make mi fall asleep with his deep deep voice.........-_-
