Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails....

Beijing Olympics 2008

I can't remember if I was as crazy 4 years back. But since 8 August 2008, the TV in my house is switched on almost 24 hours. My family and I are constantly keeping up with the matches. Perhaps it's cuz this is first time Singapore team got into the finals.

But of course, besides table tennis, there are also many many other interesting matches. And there are of course, many 风云人物 which left a deep impression in my mind.

TOP 3 ATHLETE

1. Lin Dan - No. 1 Badminton player from China
He thrashed Malaysia No. 2 Lee Chong Wei 21-12, 21-8 to win the GOLD in Beijing Olympics last Sunday. Think a left-handed player is weak? Lin Dan's speed is simply amazing. Suave, isnt he?

2. Michael Phelps - No. 1 Swimmer from America
WAH, he seems like water god and swim like a fish. I have already lost count how many golds he won this time round. The 1st runner-up is practically a distance away from him. His build is really a born swimmer!

3. Usain Bolt - No. 1 athlete from Jamica
This guy is totally nuts. Perhaps he always have to run away from lions, leading to this incredible speed. 9.69seconds from 100m race. I think his speed is equivalant to a somebody driving a car man! Broke his own record - fastest man in the world.

MOST THROW FACE

1. Liu Xiang
This guy withdrew from Men's 110m Hurdles due to 'injury'. Well, i dunno if it's true anot. but the whole world is there to watch him and support him. Rumoours have been said that he back out due to a powerul competitor who nearly won him during the semi-finals, and in order not to throw face, he back out. Well, i think at least do give it a try right? Nick sir is right, he has no balls!

MOST EXCITING:
SINGAPORE VS CHINA WOMEN'S TABLE TENIS FINAL
Well, i got hooked when i watched singapore vs korea match. And although it was obvious that china is gona be the winner, but im sure many singaporeans watched eagerly for the match. See, even PM Lee's speech is postponed. What a big news!

AND,

from this oylmpics, i get to know 女子精英.

1. Zhang Yining
How can anyone not know about this No. 1 table tennis player man. Her sibei fierce and attitude look is the killer man. No wonder all teams wriggled under her hands.

2. Feng Tian Wei
WAH! Mai Siao Siao leh! Same age as me, yet she already has such a high achievement. Tianwei is the saviour to Singapore's Silver man. She saved 2 balls during the korean match. whoo! but well, whenever she gets nervous, she always didnt manage to hit it right, leading to many balls losses to China. but well, she certianly has the potential man.

3. Li Jia Wei
And of course, after the open relationship with ronald susilo, she became a hot topic. And esp when the couple just seperated not long before olympics. I can say she really did us proud! hopefully she can beat zhang yining next time! but why does she always have to raise her leg when she start ball leh?

4. Wang Nan
She looks like typical ah lian doesnt she?

anyway, congrats to both singapore and china! actually the six of them belong to the same 祖国. (just wondering if the spore team sings china's national anthemn during prize giving anot? haha) And both their coaches are brothers! WTH right.

wow time flies! today marks the end of bejing olympics 2008 already! that's so fast! wonder if london olympics will be as interesting...

MONEY NOT ENOUGH

Every Semester, NTU will send a email to my account to ask me pay for the balance of my school fees and miscellaneous fees. This usually has not much of a problem cuz after CPF deduction from my father's account, I would only need to pay $100+ for it.

But this time round, I got a SHOCK.

$3152.80!!!
No deduction from my father's CPF account anymore!

Called the related officials and they had no idea why and one said perhaps my Dad cancelled the deduction.

Called my Dad and he said he won't pay the 3k.

What does all these suppose to mean? :(

Finally found a direction for my FYP, which makes me a happy girl. I will work hard for it.

I decided to continue taking Chinese Literature and S/U it. Coming back to school on Monday just for percussion is way too troublesome.

I couldn't get my LG Prada anymore cuz there is no more stock in the whole island. Have been diligently reading about japanese exotic phones and they are so pretty that it makes me so tempted to get one and bai mei. Since it still faces unstable connection problem and unlocking the whole phone is still impossible.

I am still in the midst of reading my tonnes of notes...

no time

Hong Kong 2008

HELLO WORLD! I AM BACK FROM HONG KONG!
-waves-

The long awaited trip has finally ended. With so much planning, so much coordinating, so much organising... Now the 4D3N vacation is over. Many Many Many thanks to Wingk who brought us around for these few days.

And of coz, thanks to Chris for 随手同行.
We made our way to Changi airport very early on Monday morning when everyone is still sounding asleep. Perhaps it was my second time there, I didn't feel excited as I used to be.
A pleasant surprise, thank you YMCA international house. they upgraded our room from deluxe to executive. this was the best room i have ever lived!
DAY 1:

Anyway, this was taken when we were on the plane. Sunny morning, lovely clouds!

Wingk waited at the airport for our arrival. Really appreciate, cuz he touched down from Canada very early that morning. Instead of going home to take a rest, he waited for us and went for lunch with us.

He brought us to this themed restaurant called "便所". Never have the thought of combining shit and food together? Now u can do it! This nicely decorated restaurant combines the theme of shit and food together to create a whole new experience altogether! Look, all guests will be seated on top of toilet bowls to have their meals.

WHAT! U PUT MY FOOD IN THE TOILET BOWL?

Chris:"YUCKS! SMELLY!"

Interesting, isnt it? Why aren't all these weird restaurants appearing in Singapore? I am sure it will do well here man!

Then we went around shopping in Central as chris wants to get a real LV. Along the way, we met a very very handsome PRADA salesman named BERT. 9/10! LOL

And then, we walk along HK park to make our way to the peak tram station. I just want to take this to show that i was in HK during the Beijing Olympics season. -_-

This is the peak tram where it will bring me up to the top of the hill to catch the magnificant view of the whole Hong Kong. The interesting thing is, it is going up a steep slope of 45 degrees.

Whoo! See, the buildings are slanted at 45 degrees. Can u imagine how slanted i was too?! haha

Upon reaching the peak...

We went to Madam Tussad wax museum and I took photos with many many stars! whoo!

I think he doesnt look like Jay Chou, although he is Jay Chou. -_-

Pretty?

How can i miss this important man!

WARNING: THE PHOTOS GET MORE HILARIOUS

I like this...So sweet!

POWER! POWER!

This is the first time I witness the pretty night scene of Hong Kong, and gosh it is real pretty.

DAY 2:

We board the cable car to visit the BIG buddha at Lantau island. it was a long cable ride, passing by many mountains and clouds. cooling weather...

Looking up to the southwest from Tei Tan square in the middle of the Po Lin Monastery plaza is a flight of 260 steps leading to the world's largest outdoor bronze statue of Buddha. The huge statue body is a breathtaking sight, and the kind smile on His face instills a sense of peacefulness. The Tian Tan Buddha sits solemnly atop the 482m Muk Yue Shan. Standing opposite to the monastery, the whole complex is 6,547 m2 in size.

Then we took a disney train to Disneyland...

We reached at around 4pm, which is pretty late. Thank goodness, we still manage to catch this season's Mickey Water Parade! Getting ourselves all wet when we havent take photos with the characters isnt a good idea, but well we had fun!

Taken with Mickey and Minnie in their summer clothes! So cheery! :)

With Pooh...(skinny pooh....LOL)

With my beloved YAYA...:)) *loves

AND we manage to catch THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!

And happen to see some HK stars filming with for the high school musical. Spot where is Liao Bi Er!

This is where we had our dinner!

While waiting for the fireworks...

DAY 3:

Thank goodness we went Disneyland yesterday and didnt change our mind to go today. CUZ WE MET TYPHOON NUMBER 8! All schools, buses and shopping malls have stopped service. More than 100 flights have been delayed. All are advised to stay indoor.

It means that, my initial shopping plan is cancelled.

Now i believe when people say that Singaporeans has no sense of danger. It was already number 8, windy and stormy, and yet both of us are still out there looking for cheap breakfast, and frequently asking the recep if there was anying shopping malls which are open.

AND spore umbrellas are really lousy, there were many times where i nearly fly away with the umbrella...thanks goodness im heavy enough...

So the only thing we did, was to sleep in the hotel. wake up and pay to serve the internet. it was very expensive. SGD 10 / 30 mins. So i went around sending emails...HAHA. So afraid that i couldnt make it for 402 lecture, and so hoping that i can get forensic science, which i didnt. :(

I spend my time rotting in my room and taking photos of the things i bought on day 2. I spend approx 200 SGD in HK disneyland itself. gosh...machiam free one!

And bought some souvenirs for my family..

Fortunately, the typhoon got better and changed to 3 at night. So we met wingk for dinner and he has treated us to expensive dinner at a teochew restaurant. We ate cold flower crabs! Yummy!

Then we went to Tsim Sha Tsui to watch to 吹海风....

And to Avenue of Stars where all of us were searching for celebrities hand prints on the floor.

Other photos in Wingk cam, cuz mine no space liao. hehe

DAY 4:

Had breakfast in Yau Ma Tei before rushing off for shopping. THE PO LO BUN IS SUPER NICE! A good combi with yun yong tea, not to be missed in hk!

And headed off for some shopping. bought a small amount of clothes, 2 pairs of shoes and 2 fake LV card holder. hehe. this time im more careful when i spend, unlike the last time when i just anyhow buy...:) well busy shopping means no time to take photos la. the heart breakfast was our only source of energy...

Dinner was taken on the plane on our way back.

And home sweet home. Without fail, every trip aunty will make a big sign to welcome me. although i always find it hilarious, but it was heart warming to know that she is always at the airport to wait for me no matter how early or how late. Thank you *muacks*

To conclude, it was a pity that day 3 was spent in hotel, but it was indeed a good experience for mi. and i have also saved quite a bit compared to last time. great, i shall get a new phone soon. real soon.

It was indeed a tiring trip, and going to school on friday was like WOW, so many things to do, so many things to read...must buck up on my readings now...tata
