While playing 《爱很简单》by David Tao,

he suddenly pop up a funny question: 爱真的有那么简单吗？

which left me pondering for a week.


four-o-two mid term exam 让我伤痕累累, as much as i try to dismiss the thought, part of me was hoping to get the answers to the tricky questions. all of us seem to have different answers to almost all questions, which left me just feeling uneasy.


it's the term break. i wasn't as excited as i expected. what lies ahead is tonnes of untouched readings to follow up, a video assignment, a FYP progress report.

im starting to hate project meetings as it often lead to a waste of time and fruitless discussions. Perhaps independent work is more productive...


i haven't been giving time to my students when all their exams are just round the corner. N Levels in one week, PSLE in two weeks, O Levels in four weeks. Why are some of them not feeling the sense of urgency as yet?

其实有点生气，不过算了。

YAC has closed for the semester. Till we meet, it should be during December or next year. Dinner was delicious, especially the chilli crabs.

I suddenly miss going out with YAC guys. It seems like a really long time since we had a outing.

I had a bad headache last Thurday and it was a very long day for me. From 1130am all the way to 730pm, only two 30 mins break in between.

When I finally reached my last lecture, I am damn tired. And yet i met a very horrible girl.

Ok, i have to set the grounds here first. I dont ostracize anyone from any country and in fact I have very good friend who originate from there. But there are really 害群之马 among them who just throw their faces.

this girl, sat beside me for a TCM lecture which lasted for 3 hours. the lecture theatre was cold yet she was wearing bare back tight top, darn mini mini skirt and a pair of high wedge shoes.

ok, i shouldn't criticise her outfit cuz this is not the main point.

throughout the 3 hours of lecture, she did the most irritating action on earth.

SHE WAS SHAKING BOTH HER LEGS FOR 3 HOURS!

when i was young, my aunty would often tell me not to shake my legs. i dun really understand the reason behind it. but now, i finally understood.

not only was it inappropriate for a girl wearing mini skirt to shake her leg, but the fact that she was wearing a pair of HEAVY wedges shoes just adds to the point. cuz her shoes are so heavy that not only her chair is shaking, my chair is also shaking.

it shake and shake and shake till i hope i will just vomit on her pair of legs. -_-"

i thought she would stop after i stare at her legs but she didnt. and all around me, the lecture seats were filled so i cant shift to somewhere near.

and i endured...(*&^%#%^&*^##

to worsen the whole situation, whenever the lecturer says something wrong or something which she thinks it's funny (and we often didnt laugh), she will turn her head to look at me and laugh out really loud.

really loud.

some people are just not sensitive enough.

i rolled my eyes and gave a disgusted look, and she laughed while she shake her legs, and here i was trying to listen to lecture, with a headache and somebody laughing so loud, i just hope that i can slap her. totally.

where is she from?

she is a ah teong.

Moral of the story:
1. girls, please do not shake your legs. its very unsightful.
2. in a cold lecture, please wear more. and dun shake ur legs while wearing mini skirts.
3. please dont laugh so loudly.
4. please dont turn and laugh into your neighbour's ear.
5. please be more sensitive and when you witness a black and pissed off face, please stop what you are doing and dont continue laughing and shaking.
6. PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE.

Why was i having a headache?

becus we couldnt find a contact for my interview assignment. we are suppose to film somebody and the aim is to tell a story.

my first idea was to find a gay to talk about his love story.

there was no confirmed decision till this week. and when i start to look for contacts, it was too late.

one: tell mi he ain't got a bf and he is straight. knowing him for so long, and somebody who was once so close to heart, i was rather shocked by this and his cold attitude.

two: tell mi he is no longer gay and is uncomfortable, well which i can accept.

three: no reply for this good good buddy

four: he replies once every days and by the time he agreed, it was a thursday.

so the idea was then called off and i had a hard time knocking my brain for somebody who can tell me interesting stories...

that explains my headache.

but thankfully an idea struck me! and i found her! thanks so much for accepting the interview!

a student approached me to ask for help. he is having his o levels real soon and his eng is still not passing.

which worries me.

so what if he do well for my maths right? and if he fail english, he is sort of left with no bright future kind.

well, thats the reality for singapore education system.

i tried to find those english tutors who have pulled me up but they aren't giving tuition anymore.

thanks to lishan and i got introduced to her friend who agreed to help.

hopefully, he will learn as much as he can from her and do her homework!

business is not good and he hopes that i can liase with any media personnel to introduce their prawn mee.

as much as i would hope to help me family, but i have left the job and is no longer in that line.

but well, i believe business takes time to build and you cant simply fly to the moon within a week right?

this is another big headache for me :(

ok i haven't mark my students work and i have got a mid autumn performance at guang ming shan tml night at 7pm. and i m not even halfway through my revision for a upcming test next friday. and i need to go back sch on monday for editing which means no free days to do revision anymore.

IM SO DEAD TIRED! the bottle of chicken essence i drink everyday is not enuf to curb my tiredness anymore...

It's 4.30pm now and i m supposed to be sitting in a lecture but im now in computer lab blogging.

I have finished a project meeting, a long lecture, a ethics tutorial for the day AND there is another 3 hrs long lecture coming up.

This weekend is gone with rehearsals for mooncake festival performance on friday and saturday and the actual performance on sunday.

AND THERE IS A UPCOMING QUIZ NEXT FRIDAY WHICH IS 40%!

omg, im really dead beat.

So many ideas, so many things to do but nth seems to be progressing.

thankfully i had a good dinner last night. YUMMY RAMEN AND SATAY. thanks for the great company nick sir! :))

Warner Bros. sues over 'Hari Puttar' film

When we are talking about copyright infringement and media ethics, i saw this INTERESTING NEWS:

MUMBAI, India (AP) -- Let's see Hari Puttar get out of this one.

Bollywood producers set to release a film called "Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors" are working to fend off a lawsuit filed by Warner Bros. that claims the movie title hews too closely to their mega-famous boy wizard franchise.

While Bollywood films often borrow liberally from Western movies, producers of "Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors" say their movie bears no resemblance to any film in the "Harry Potter" series.

"There is absolutely nothing to link 'Hari Puttar' with 'Harry Potter,"' said Munish Purii, chief executive officer of Mumbai-based producer Mirchi Movies. Hari is a common name in India and "puttar" is Punabji for son, he said.

"Even if it does rhyme with Harry Potter, surely there is a limit to cases?" said Tarun Adarsh, editor of Trade Guide magazine.

The film is not a tale of wizard spells or flying broomsticks, but rather a story of an Indian boy left home alone, who fights off burglars when his parents go away on vacation -- a plot more reminiscent of the film "Home Alone," starring Macaulay Culkin.

Warner Bros. is seeking an injunction against the film, which is set for release September 12. Hearings began Monday and the next is scheduled for September 2.

Warner Bros. spokeswoman Deborah Lincoln confirmed that the company has filed a lawsuit against the producers of "Hari Puttar."

"Warner Bros. values and protects intellectual property rights. However, it is our policy not to discuss publicly the details of any ongoing litigation," Lincoln said in an e-mail to The Associated Press.

何谓 PROFESSIONAL?

I used to think that teachers or instructors are generally considered professional in their field. But as years goes by, it seems to me that no one has a proper definition or category for 'professional'.

According to the Oxford Dictionary:

professional
• adjective 1 relating to or belonging to a profession. 2 engaged in an activity as a paid occupation rather than as an amateur. 3 worthy of or appropriate to a professional person; competent.
• noun 1 a professional person. 2 a person having impressive competence in a particular activity.

Being in a particular field, leaning on a skill certainly doesnt make you a professional.
Graduated from a field or having experience in the field too doesnt make one a professional.

But sometimes, people just feel that being in the field some time = experienced = professional

which i certainly do not agree.

A piano teacher may have the experience in the field, but it doesn't mean she/he is professional.
A dance teacher can teach dance but doesnt mean she is a professional dance teacher.
A Maths teacher can teach Maths but does it mean she is professional?

To me, i felt that a professional should be able to bring insights to an amateur and provide solutions to 101 problems in as many ways as possible.

It means, instead of knowing the wrong and correct way of doing things, a professional should be able to provide feasible solutions when an amateur is faced with a difficult situations, and accept different working methods to it.

And not:
- To criticize that you are not doing something correctly without being able to provide reasonable reasonings to the wrongdoing.

For instance:
A: This photo is not nice.
B: Why?
A: JUST NOT NICE.

And the person thinks she/he is a professional cuz she/he has been experimenting in the field for a few months.

So experience is important...

But then having experience so what?

A person can be in the field for 10 years, but does that make her/him a professional?

For instance:
A: This is not the way to be it. You must like this, like that...
B: How?
A: Just feel it. / According to experience, it is like this, like that...

Got say isnt it equivalent to no say?

Well, if a 'professional' cant able to help u to achieve a certain goal and merely gives out 空头advice (ie telling u that u are wrong, but doesnt tell u how to make it correct), i feel it just make her/him an experienced person BUT NOT a professional.

This weekend has been rather terrible for me.

I cancelled my tuition last minute cuz I was having a terrible sore throat, cold and running nose.

My students were actually planning a Teacher's Day surprise! But too bad la, I really dont have the energy to drag myself there. :(

So went to see doctor, gave me drowsy cold medicine and drowsy cough syrup and i slept.

woke up for lunch, then i sleep again.

woke at 3 plus and i was running a high fever...38.9 degrees...

called for help cuz nobody is at home! -_-"

then my aunty came back giving my a fever medicine to eat. sleep and sweat abit, temperature lowers to 38.4 degrees.

Thinking that the medicine doesnt work, my grandfather brought me to 24 hours clinic.

I tell u, this is the worst doctor i have ever seen!

not that i m being stereotyped or wad, but this young doctor really CANNOT MAKE IT man!

he ask me wads wrong and then he said:

"you are suffering from viral infection. Since u hve seen a doctor and she has given u the neccessary medicine, just go and get panadol to lower ur temperature can already."

my aunty was so furious and said:"so next time got fever got flu got cough, just go those pharmacy get medicine and no need to come and see u already correct?"

he was speechless and gave me 20 tabs of panadol -_-"

despite me feeling very terrible, i insisted on going for family gathering.

then i even plead my dad to make a trip to marina square after that cuz i wana wish yueyin happy birthday! felt so bad, initially im suppoose to be with them, but family gathering came last minute, so i have to fly kite. paiseh :)

today i woke up with 38.4 degrees. GOSH!

my nose ran away,

wee! 3 days MC! -_-" but i die die have to go back school on wed to hand in my chinese lit assignment.

on a happy note, i finally got my japan hp and it's gorgeous! but i dont have anyone's number cuz all numbers are stored in previous hp and this japan hp cannot copy simcard. zzz
