Malaysia Kukup Trip - 7 December 08

I think I can really sleep when I go overseas. Be it on the boat, on the train, on the bus. As long as Im sitting down, doing nothing, I can doze off, right Lishan? LOL

Went Kukup with ah aunty and ah gong on Sunday. It was a journey full of delays. It was an organised trip by rediffusion, the only subscription radio in Singapore. When I was born, the radio is already in the house. If you have called my house before, Im sure you often hear those old opera and old songs playing at the background, yes that's my Rediffusion and it's on twenty-four hours. Even when we are sleeping, watching TV, eating, whatever, the radio box continues talking.

So yes, you will expect the older generation form the majority of the listeners. This trip has 3 buses, and 3 DJs joined us, one on each bus.

Ok, the first delay was, one aunty went alone and she forgotten to get her passport chopped at the Malaysia custom. It's only when our bus drove off, and she asked aunty to help her checked then she realised it wasn't chopped.

Bobian, die die have to travel back cuz the issue will be more difficult to settle when we go back at night. Perhaps all of us will have to stay in Msia? Haha.

Many trees, barren land, many sign boards, where can you find all these in Singapore?

We visited Pewter Factory where we can see how tins are made into different kinds of pewter.

I love kids, kids love me! LOL. They are called Rou Rou (elder) and Ni Ni (younger). Ni Ni is so CUTE! :))

Then we travelled to Kukup Fishing Village, and have our lunch by the Kelong. The food is good, seafood is fresh, spices are great. But becuse it's the eve of Hari Raya Haiji, the crowd is terrible and there are not enough rice! The toilet stinks and the flushing system is spoilt! Can you imagine, I just gobbled down a mouthful of crabs and prawns, and when i entered all three cubicles, what I saw was, Urine, Da Bian & Lao Sai! I nearly puked -_-

But well, disgusting issues aside, take a look at the kelong and the yummy food!

We boarded a boat that drives us around to see the small kelongs, where only Chinese lived there. And they just sell the fishes and crabs and prawns and whats not from the sea to earn a living. And the restaurant just threw whatever rubbish from the table into the sea, be it prawn shells, crabs shells, tissues etc. So yea, we can just smell the stench.

The tip of jelly fish is poisonous is it?

Then we headed to Kukup Fruit Farm cum Durian plantation. ok calling it a plantation is totally wrong cuz it's damn small, and u just walk in a small circle garden and thats the end. I only spotted two pathetic durian trees with small durians (cuz its not the durian season now! sadness!)

The owner doesnt recall the name of this fruit but it was said that it can cure cancer?

Spot the durians on the tree!

Well done, 5 mosquitoe bites from the plantation! Then we went Jusco for shopping! due to time contraints, driver lost the way, visit some northern part of SEA etc, we were only given 45mins to shop this big shopping mall! it's something like Vivocity la, all the brands that we have in Spore is also available there. Manage to buy 2 basic tops and ah gong bought a pair of shoes.

And i saw old town coffee! I miss the old town kopi that i drank at east coast! Find one day, I want to go back East Coast Old Town for breakfast.

Reached home at 1130PM.
好累哦!

Xiao Hei is leaving tml morning! Feeling quite apologetic cuz I think I havent been a good host, never bring them around, and Im always occupied with my stuffs. Nevertheless, Im gona miss them :)

Meeting Fungie to eat Lao Beijing High Tea Buffet. Now it's 12.47PM and I m supposed to meet her at 1PM. I haven't dry my hair, I haven't changed. OH MINE! She's gona kill me! HAHA

THAT'S ALL FOLKS! TATA!~

Yummy Saturday!

It has been a very very very busy loooong weekend!
Let's talk about my tired Saturday 1st.

Took a cab to Paya Lebar MRT station to meet a mask buyer. She was rushing for work, so I had no choice but to meet her at that place early morning, 1015AM. I had nothing to do till 12PM, so I walked to City Plaza to shop. It was way too early and most of the shops weren't opened yet. But I saw alot of really pretty and cheap clothes.

Then took a train to Tiong Baru MRT. Meeting a bunch of food bloggers for lunch at Persimmon, Link Hotel. This is a really ulu boutique hotel hidden somewhere between Outram and Tiong Baru MRT station. I totally had no idea how to go there. Bobian, took cab again. But guess what, i boarded TWO cabs and none of the taxi uncle knew where the hell it was. Thankfully, the 3rd one drove me to the place safely.

I think Persimmon is very quiet usuall since it's a newly opened fusion restaurant. But with the 28 of us around on a Saturday afternoon, the place became very noisy. I have not seen anyone there before, it's just sound like those make-new-friends session!

But oh mine, they actually know about my food blog! Some of there were like, "I know your blog"..."Oh, so you are the owner of the only chinese food blog!"..."Oh! you posted your Hong Kong photos right!"...& there was even one guy said "You are the NTU blogger who has the chinese food blog!"

I'm like STUNNED!

But anyway, it was a happy and lively lunch though the food wasnt what I had expected. To me, I can accept the idea of fusion food, but it must comes with a style, not like anyhow mix machiam rojak. I think there are still rooms of improvements for the restaurant. Anw, there were still some good ones!

I just think this jelly is pretty. BUT it's way too hard.

This chicken rice salad is YUMMY! It's special! U are eating ang moh salad, with the chicken rice soy sauce plus chicken rice chilli, and boiled chicken with fried chicken rice! It's their specialty.

Group photo of our table.

Then after the lunch, went out with a few of the food bloggers to Chinatown Point to have yummy kopi! The shop was set up by another member of makan sutra forum. The texture is very smooth. it's called "Good Morning Nanyang!"

Then went off to meet Mummy to go Chunkfest at Fort Canning. Couldn't find anyone to go together, so asked mummy along. It was raining but it didnt dampen the spirits of ice cream lovers! the queue to buy the ice cream was damn long like a few kilometers, and mummy was trying to queue which i think will take TWO hours? But thankfully, i got a free scoop in the end! :)

Look at the crowd. Machiam free ice cream like that! oh mine! they even have a competition where you can form group of 4 and eat 20 scoops of ice creams with 20 different fillings etc and see who can finish in the shortest amt of time! and all the competitors were mainly BIG men! LOL

They even have small stalls such as:

Crystal Ball fortune telling!

and tarot reading! i think tarot scene in spore is v small. I noe her, she noe me! haha

Thanks for HUNGRYCOW's recommendation and introduction, I got a free scoop of the NEW FLAVOUR! THANK YOU BEN N JERRY! :)

Went to town for shopping. But i was really tired and my new Pretty Fit shoes are damn wet with soil liao. and i was damn full...

so just walk around, looking for fungie's xmas gift! haha. and dinner was at ajisen, which was very disappointing. the Ajisen at causeway point was MUCH MUCH BETTER than the one at Taka.

Wanted to go home after dinner, but saw Giordano having 40% sales and we went in to join in the fun! suibian bought 3 tshirts at 10 bucks each.

Then pop by Cotton On and Mummy began trying some tops and bought one.

I tried on 3 dresses from Cotton On and 1 dress from Forever21, Mummy said they looks pretty and wanted me to get them.

BUT I BOUGHT NOTHING AT ALL! :(
I am tired and I just wana go home!

Next post: Msia Kukup trip

I WANT TO GET A DLSR!

3 December 2008, Wednesday

IT WAS A SUPER BUSY DAY!

Went back school to meet Trisha for FYP. The whole school suddenly becomes a renovation site with loud hammering and screwing sounds. I reached school early to print our progress report and found that I could not use a single computer AT ALL!

The 3 wonderful computer labs in Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information are still closed for examinations when all exams have ended. The wonderful library in Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information is gone! Everything inside turned into ashes!

So i sat on the benches, nothing to do, cannot print report, rotted for 30 mins waiting for my grp members to arrive. The noise is killing me. Thank goodness i brought my tarot cards so i took out and play with it.

Remember i did a reading on 11 November 2008, so I asked the same question, but this time drawing lesser cards. and ohmyfuckingod, I GOT BACK THE SAME CARDS! i repeat again, the SAME cards. Suddenly, i was damn amazed by my own cards!

Then i asked another question for the day and tried to pick some cards. 5 mins later, tried to pick one card to sum up my day and i pick the same card as i did 5 mins ago! this is like! stunned!

And anyway, i got this card to sum up my day: KNIGHT OF WANDS

When “Knight of Wands” shows up in a reading, it may serve as a reminder that regardless of how lucky you may be feeling right now, you are still responsible for all the decisions made and action taken in your life.

Please don’t act carelessly just because you believe you’re being provoked by your environment.

“Knight of Wands” could be here to ask you to clear your mind and be prepared to shift your energy so that you’d be able to build the momentum necessary to leap to your next level of success.

Met WingK (like finally!) and hope he enjoyed his stay here. Even he is worried about securing his job. gosh, look how bad this economy is! i think teaching so far is the safest liao. And thankyou for the yummy biscuits from HK! they are my favourite brands! i rmbr kopping a whole bag of it when i was in hk airport back home! LOL

Then took a cab with THE BOY to Katong for dinner :):) Opz, sorry i was late for 45mins! ;p But I hope the oneh oneh pays back for the long wait :)

The taxi uncle damn gao xiao can. He presses something wrongly and couldnt retrieve to print receipt. so instead of issuing an offical receipt, he tore a piece of paper and asks THE BOY to help him write down the date and time of taking the cab, afterwhich he acknowledges by signing and say this piece of paper can be used. ERM hello uncle...ARE U SURE?

Wanted to go Mel's Place but we were too early so we settled on Aston Specialties! Hehehe, actually I have been wanting to dine there for the longest time la.

Ate the prime ribeye extra cut, it was real yummy and I thought it was pretty cheap for a plate of steak. *LOVES* Thankfully we were early, by the time we finished, there was a long long long queue.

Headed East Coast Park and then home sweet home.

*i cherish every moments with you...*

it's the holidays and im procrastinating, but i have to finish transcribing the 51mins long of FYP interview. Meeting with the fyp supervisor always give us new light and direction. and it was always happy discussion :) i even gave her two masks to try lor! haha

ok, i digress. im trying to say i must finish up the transcript like REAL SOON.

i will be next featured blogger for blog2u and i have to send the interview answers soon, which was half done and nothing interesting! gosh! hehe, and im supposed to send 4-5photos to be posted on their webby too. there may be familiar faces of friends too orh! :)

Anyways, they have interesting questions like:
Would you ever sell your blog? If yes, how much?
What is the craziest thing you ever done in real life?
If you are stuck in a deserted island and you are allowed to choose 1 blogger to be with you, who will you choose and why? (OK, sound like Miss Universe question. Must finish with a world peace hor)
Any chance our readers can date you out?

I havent think of an interesting answer to these questions yet leh!
diao, machiam comprehension questions! haha, anw once im featured, i will put a link here!

And yes, i never forget YAC! i know i still have a BAO GONG script to complete. soon soon k!

The gang is practising for the year end spiritual countdown concert already and I havent attended any sessions! IM SORRY! I will see you guys tomorrow k! diao, why the practice session at geylang sia? and im sure we end very late one, NOT SAFE wor.

shall we go eat frog legs after practice since we are there?! WAHAHAHA (who is the one who said not safe hur hur! -_-)

"Life Never Dies" REALLY sounds like some holy spiritual christian song leh! I fell asleep while listenin to it for the 1st time! pengz

Alright to end off the post, two photos of xiaohei!

Wore one of my unwanted dress around the house -_-

And he was snatching my newspaper trying to prevent mi from reading it so that i can sing for him. good gracious, i can memorise the whole CD compilation of children's songs by hard liao. i have been singing to him TWICE A DAY! morning and night. and the CD is like 1.5hrs long. bloodyhell. by 9pm, i was sibei tired and no voice. dancing and singing to him is super tiring.

<<命中注定我爱你>> is a nice show! though i only watch the 1st episode. :)

Food bloggers Lunch on saturday at Persimmon (The Link Hotel). there will be a total of 28 people attending! whoo!

And it's time to write xmas cards!:)

and it's public holiday on monday!
