My CNY 09

I am really busy that I don't have time to decorate my house. So this is the lovely work done by my aunties:

Basically I spent my CNY Day 1 afternoon going to monastery for prayers and lunch. Then headed to Mustafa and rot our afternoon away.

Head home to shower, before going to my Gu Ma's place for our annual feast.

As you can see, it's really a feast.

The family is watching Ip Man after dinner while Ting and I went to C.A's room to the Little Nonya.

Slowly, all of them left, leaving me waiting for my Papa to finish his MJ. Tired.

CNY Day 2! I wore this pretty floral top. I love it very very much! :)

Went 2 houses for visiting. Let's welcome the 3 sisters! From left: My dearest 3yi, 2yi and my skinny mama.

Reunion Lunch

CNY Eve is about eating. Among the 3 days, this is the busiest day of all. After hitting the gym, rushed off to Uncle's house for a reunion lunch.

Oh gosh, Ting permed her hair and RY got a new haircut! SIBEI CHIO!

Lunch is full of meat, so is dinner! So after lunch, we had nothing much to do except to cam-whore.

It's RY's daddy's birthday, so they bought a cake and we celebrated!

Ow family - being a family of GAMBLERS, of course wont miss this chance. Birthday boy have to pick golden numbers for 4D and Toto. It was a damn hilarious process as Ting's mum kept shouting "HUAT AH!"

And they actually stick the papers with the shen tai and ask uncle to pray respect to 4D and Toto numbes for the 15 days of CNY. Gao Xiao can!

This is the 4D GOlden number! coincidentally, it's the car plate number of the birthday man!

Every year, my storeroom never fails to SHOCK me with so much CNY cookies. It seems like we are stocking up for winter of some sort.

If you open my refrigerator, you will be more shocked by it. Especially by the super HUGE kueh lapis lying in one corner...

I was totally in holiday mood and after having tuition in ReneNa, I decided to cancel my private tuition.

So I was playing with my lovely god daughters!

Mummy said they have grown. The last she seen them was during my 21st birthday celebration. Of course, that was 2 years ago. Time flies. Richelle is already Primary 1!

I just feel like pinching Rei... >.<

Crabby Dinner

Met up with the MFSS people to sign up for YEC. Then we went for dinner! Supposed to eat at Melben but we have to wait for 1 hour plus, it's already 9pm and the boys are hungry.

So we decided to go for the alternative - Uncle Leong crab at Block 233 AMK, who is the brother of Melben boss.

Of course we must take the crab bee hoon and compare with Melben. All of us felt it wasnt as delicious and way too pepperish.

Ling with Jordy (Finally I got his name right, for goodness sake!) busy eating crabs.

And our dear Jun Yue with his stupid acts again. He doesnt eat vegetables at all and he was spitting the vege that he ate. -_-"

Next outing, Picnic at Botanic Gardens, right Fungie? LOL!

Having 6 hours long drama lessons every Friday is a tiring affair.
And to end at 630pm is the other torture.

What's more?
I still got to stay in school for project meeting after my lessons till god-knows-what-time.
I guess it will be another two hours discussion, which mean I will leave the ulu school at 9pm.

And today is the last day of school before we have our long weekend.
Gosh, can this day end soon... :(

Saturday: 25/03 Gathering

5 years.
Yes, after 5 years, we finally met.

No gathering was held after we left JC.
Thanks Valerie Dear for organising this dinner. Although there were only 8 of us, but Im sure we truly enjoyed ourselves and cathing up with each other.

Our dear Shao Wei is still as vain. He needs to wait for his precious hair to dry and while waiting, he has to keep scrunching his hair. Duh, nothing new right! :p

The food was not bad, perhaps I was hungry. And each of us had potong ice cream!

Sin Guan and her new boyfriend, Benjamin, who is one year younger than us. Sin Guan is currently working as a marketing executive in BioEssence.

Limin is working as a auditor now. And you would probably has guessed it. She is stressed.

Our dear Huan Yuen is in the dean's list for 6 semesters liao, MAI SIAO SIAO! And Limin makes me retake this photo 3 times -_-

It was fun, definitely.
Everyone is still the same. No changes at all.
It feels great to meet up again.

Before going for class gathering, I went for modern dance lesson with Yan Xuan at Frontier Dance Studio. Susan is really pretty and good!

It leaves me with butt pain and leg pains till today.

And Yan Xuan is simply crazy.

and yet she is going for dance like almost everyday.
Monday, Wednesday, Thurday, Saturday and Sunday.

But well, this girl is so into dance that she really slim down ALOT over the holidays
So jealous! Hehe...

But I still think this is too crazy.

CNY is coming, in less than a week, yet I don't feel it at all.
I think it's only me that is not in the mood coz last night,

Ting: Sis, this Sunday we meeting at 1230pm
Me: Huh? Since when did we arrange? Meet for what?
Ting: EAT REUNION DINNER LAH! -_-"

I guess it was just the long holiday that I looked forward to.
So that I can sleep my days away and recharge fully.
CNY has become nothing special.
No shops are opened, everyone is hopping from one house to another.
And it's only this time of the year that Mummy and Daddy will see me for consecutive 3 days, which (Im sorry) is a torture for me.

But well, the fun thing about celebrating CNY is definitely the making of these yummy CNY cookies!



And the only thing to look forward every CNY, I think, is going to Mui Mai's house :)

release of O level results

Yes, O Level results are finally released yesterday. Although it was many many years ago, but I can still vividly remember this significant moment. And I think perhaps because I am giving tuition to Sec 4 students every year, so it has become an annual excitement for me when this day arrives.

One of my private student called me yesterday once she received her results. She got A for combined Chem/Bio and B3 for A Maths, L1R5 12points. Not too bad. She can get into SAJC, which is what she always wanted.

I felt quite touched that she still remembers the existence of this tuition teacher who has been with her even for barely 6 months. Never will I forget the day before her A Maths paper that I stayed at her house till close to 12AM to work out all sorts of maths questions with her.

Students nowadays never appreciate or look upon tuition teachers. See how unappreciated these youngsters are. But well, she called and she told me the results and she thanked me. That's like the best thing for that day.

The rest? Not even a single sms. One of them is still enjoying life in China.

Well, all the best to all of them no matter what. It's really nice to know that she did well! Good job Peiyu! :) - even though she doesn't know my blog. LOL

It was my first night in hall yesterday. I dunoe about the rest but I became super lazy once I entered my room. Lazy to move around, lazy to remove my contact lense, lazy to take shower, lazy to go down and buy dinner, lazy to do everything. Perhaps it was due to a long and tiring day.

And shameless but I have to admit that I have never slept alone for many many years in my life. So yes, I felt pretty scared with all the lights off and start to imagine some scenes that u always see in horror movies and yet I don't dare to open my eyes.

I tried to have a small light lit up at a corner but it freaks me out more cuz it's LIGHT BLUE in colour. If your imagination is as wild as mine, you should know what I related to, especially this light is just beside my window. -_-

Yes, call me spoilt. Call me shame shame.

But hey! I will conquer it! and maybe by the end of the semester, you will just see a panda me due to all the sleepless nights and whats not. LOL

But well, I finish editing the 500 words abstract for FYP which is a real chore. This is the 4th time I have edited it. I guess we never really understand how to write a good abstract or what is needed in the abstract. As I was editing, I felt the more shitty it looks.

Guess my FYP supervisor will need us to re-write again. -_- Thank goodness I wont be around to attend the FYP meeting this week. . .

Coz my grandaunty has passed on last Sunday. Well, I couldn't really recall how she looks like but I guess it was quite a unhappy event for my family especially for my Grandaddy and aunties who are rather close with her.

So I will be attending her funeral this coming Thursday. I know that she is going to a better place where there are no more sufferings for her :)

I have a 830AM lecture tomorrow, I seriously think the instructor is crazy. 3 long hours of Directing workshop, I think we will become sleepy directors in the end. zzz

Nothing else to write already. I am going back to my room and start to laze around again. whee!

SUNDAY: SHOPPING AT CITY PLAZA

Went shopping with Lishan at City Plaza to get some CNY clothes. And I bought this bag too.

Guess the price.

$68!

I think I bought it on impulse. The uncle initially quote $89.
Then he gave me a 10% discount: $80.
Then I staggered the price again and he gave me $70.
I am just like a typical aunty in market as I ask for more discount.

Final price: $68.

It was specially manufactured for the European Market. And this is the only one imported to Singapore.

Yes, ONE AND ONLY ONE.

And it better be.

SATURDAY: RICE PARTY @ AMKCC

Andrew invited us to help out at a RICE PARTY CUM ANG BAO GIVING CEREMONY for the poor at Ang Mo Kio CC. So Weibo, Xiaoling, Fungie and I went!

It feels so good to stay here, cuz AMK CC is just right opposite my block! WHEE!

Reached at around 5pm and we realised that we have too many manpower. There are 30 tables and our duty is just to carry the bowl of Tang Yuan to the various tables and serve it to the elderly folks. And being the last dish of the night, it means that we totally have nothing to do till the end. So we decided to go for dinner before coming back to serve deserts.

So the 5 of us went New York New York at AMK HUB for dinner. Aiyo, the portion is damn huge. I shared a plate of pork ribs with Xiaoling.

The lady told us to be back by 630pm. Of course, we didnt listen. HAHA! At 7pm, the phonecall rang and she told us that they are going to serve dessert soon. So we rush all the way back.

And of course, we didnt fulfill our duty in the end. By the time we are back, they have already finish eating. So the only thing we did was to go up on stage, shake hands with the minister Seng Han Thong, thanking us for preparing such a wonderufl dessert (even though we didnt do anything at all! LOL). Pose and take a photo.

Aiyo, must treasure this photo man. Our dear minister is disfigured the very next day.

Then we sang CNY songs to the elderly and they had prize giving for the best dish. Of coz we didnt win la. But Aunty's WEC group won!

After helping to clear the tables and plates, we head to J8 to watch YES! MAN. It was a damn stupid but funny show. So if you just wana go in, waste the money just to laught your hearts out, this is it.

Reached home at midnight. It was tiring but I sure had fun :)
